Blake Wins 200 At Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – First-year sprinter Camryn Blake captured a win in the 200-meter dash for the Frostburg women's track & field team at the 3rd Annual Larry Sharpe Memorial at Hagerstown C.C., Sunday.
 
In total, FSU finished with one win and nine top-10 efforts in their final tune-up before next weekend's CAC Championships at Christopher Newport.
 
Blake won the 200 in 27.31, while sophomore Taja Griffin finished in 13th (32.84) and first-year Timara Wright finished in 14th in a season-best 32.95. Griffin also added 10th in the 55-meter dash prelims (8.51) and Wright took 12th in the prelims in 9.00.
 
The Bobcats also added two runner-up showings to their results.
 
Sophomore Sarah McCurry finished runner-up in the mile in a season-best 6:15.22, while the women's sprint medley relay team of juniors Gabbriell Reason, Mackenzie Smith, Sidonie Brown and Keileen Estrada were second in 4:43.05.
 
Estrada finished in third place in the 55-meter hurdles in a season-best 9.51 and sophomore Ashleigh Myers took sixth in the 300-meter dash in 55.09.
 
Senior Holly Van Wie added third in the shot put in 9.40 meters (30ft. 10.25in.), while sophomore Cassandra Vogle was ninth at 8.48 meters (27ft. 10in.).
 
Sophomore Tristan Barnett, the lone male to compete for the Bobcats at Hagerstown, took 10th in the 200-meter dash in 26.43 and finished eighth in the 55-meter hurdles prelims in 10.66.
