FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Both the men's and women's swim teams fell to Capital Athletic Conference rival, Mary Washington, Friday evening.

The defending conference champions beat the Bobcat women by a decisive 128-39 margin while the UMW men won, 144-23.
Despite falling to the Eagles, the Bobcats won four individual events including sophomore Maddie Weinberger winning two of her three individual races.
Weinberger touched first in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.83) and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.25. She also finished third in the 100-yard IM, touching in at 1:05.20.
Junior Macey Nitchie also collected a win in the 200-yard freestyle, crushing her opponents by almost three seconds in a time of 1:57.59. Nitchie also turned in a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.09) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.21), narrowly missing the first place spot by .02 as UMW's Shannon Coryell took the top spot in 54.19.
In the 50-yard backstroke, sophomore Emily Turner finished in 30.38, good for second place behind UMW's Maddy Ryner (29.24).
On the men's side, junior Christian March touched first in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:15.67, just out touching UMW's Kleigh Koupal for the top spot. Koupal finished in 2:15.83. March also collected second-place in the 50-yard freestyle (22.26).
Junior Daniel Ryczek was the Bobcats top-finisher in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.44), good for third-place overall. He also finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (53.24) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.78).
The Bobcats return home to host Alderson Broaddus and Washington & Jefferson tomorrow at 1:00 PM.
