CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Swim team placed first out of three teams across two days at the Winter Frenzy and Vulcan Invite from Friday to Saturday.

FSU began the first day of competition with seniors Andrew Wetherhold and Josh Horner, junior Zeke Cummings, and freshman Sean Filipovits placing second in the 200-yard free relay at 1:31.25, while senior Nigel Webster, junior Tory Reynolds, and freshmen Bliss Hays and Glen Newell were third in 1:31.34.

Junior Jack Bond earned the first Bobcat win of the day in the 500 free (5:05.46), while sophomore Bradin Norris had a pair of victories in the 200 back (2:02.16) and the 200 fly (2:07.52). Reynolds led the way for a 2-3-4 finish in the 100 breast at 1:03.90, followed by Newell (1:09.41) and freshman Santi Villiers (1:12.58).

Also among the runner-up placements were freshman Rodney Harris in the 400 IM (5:08.68) and junior Dylan King in the 100 free (48.67). The pair later joined Horner and Filipovits for an impressive win in the 400 medley relay at 3:46.90 to win the meet on 218 points, 18 ahead of Salem (WV).

More success continued into day two, as Frostburg began with a strong start in the 200 medley relay, winning with the team of Filipovits, Wetherhold, King, and junior Joshua Stokes in 1:40.94. FSU's best event would be the 100 fly, as Reynolds (55.92) led a 1-2-3 finish along with Wetherhold (56.49) and Hays (56.55).

Norris earned another victory in the 1,650 free (17:34.91), while Filipovits came runner-up in the 50 free (22.75) and the 200 IM. Hays would also finish second in the 200 breast (2:27.70) just ahead of Wetherhold (2:29.70), while Stokes had the same placement in the 200 free (1:52.87). The Bobcats closed out the competition with the team of Stokes, Norris, Webster, and freshman Jack McCullough taking second in the 400 free relay at 3:30.16.
