HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team fell to Fairmont State University on the third day of the Spring Fest, 8-1, Wednesday afternoon.
Jessica McCants earned the Bobcats only win on the afternoon with a 7-6, 6-1 victory in No. 5 singles action. McPants took the first game after a long tiebreaker that ended in her favor, 21-19. Junior Kayla Kirk and Kaitlin Lemment fell in a hard-fought No. 1 doubles match, 8-5 while McCants and freshman Kiana Jones dropped the No. 3 doubles set, 8-5 as well.
The Bobcats return to Capital Athletic Conference action on Sunday when they travel to Newport News, Va. to take on Christopher Newport on Sunday at 10:00 am.
