ELKINS, W. Va. - Freshman Macey Nitchie swam an impressive 200-yard freestyle to break Frostburg State's record but the men's and women's swimming teams fell to DII opponent, Davis & Elkins, Friday night.

The women fell to the Senators by a narrow score of 97-77 while D&E slipped by the men with a score of 114-83.

Meet ResultsNitchie's first-place time of 1:59.98 in the 200 free broke a 31-year old school record of 2:01.00. She followed up her record-setting performance with a second-place time of 25.95 in the 50-yard freestyle.  Nitchie rounded out her individual day with second in the 100-yard free at 57.58.

Senior Jaclyn Franzak posted a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:05.16. Junior Maci Quintanilla and Kait Donch added back-to-back second place times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.86) and the 500-yard free (5:42.12), respectively.
Donch added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.86 to round out her individual day.

The women's foursome of Quintanilla, Donch, Franzak and senior Elizabeth Jarrell opened the meet with a first-place time of 2:16.84 in the 200-yard medley relay.

On the men's side, freshman Christian March picked up another win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.16 while also posting the top time in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:00.65.

Freshman Deionn Yarberough picked up second in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:00.69, touching the wall just .15 after the first place finisher.Â

Senior Jon Shepard came in second for the Bobcats in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.55.

Yarberough, Shepard, sophomore Alek Combs and freshman James Williams brought home first in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet for FSU. Â Freshmen David Rubino, Jake Schmid, John Singleton and senior Jeffery Page closed out the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:58.87 for FSU.

FSU returns to the pool tomorrow when the Bobcats travel to Hampden Sydney, Va. for a tri-meet hosted by Hampden Sydney beginning at 2:00 pm.
