SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Bobcat freshman thrower Tiffany Cancel captured fifth place in the discus throw to highlight the Frostburg State University women's track & field team at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University, Saturday afternoon.

Final Results

Cancel grabbed the only individual top-five finish for the Bobcats with her fifth-place showing in the discus throw at 35.01 meters. She also took 19^th in the hammer throw (35.07 meters).

Continuing with the throwing events, junior Christina Smith just missed out on a top-10 finish after taking 11^th in the shot put with a heave of 10.43 meters.

The 4x800-meter relay team consisting of junior Bryn Allston, freshman Casey Columbus,  freshman Alexis DeVault and junior Gabbi Maher grabbed a third place finish with a time of 11:00.83.

Also on the track, freshman Amy Virostek collected 13^th place in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:12.49, while classmate Lexi Foreman snagged a 16^th place finish in the 3,000-meter run at 12:06.57.

To round out the Bobcat women's top-20 finishes, freshman Ana Gomerez took 19^th place in the long jump at 4.97 meters and senior Morgan Carroll crossed the line at 27.36 in the 200-meter dash for 20^th place.

The Bobcats will now gear up for the Capital Athletic Conference outdoor championships on May 3^rd, hosted by Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
