LANCASTER, Pa. – After the second day of the 2014 Franklin & Marshall College Invitational, the Frostburg State men's swimming team is in ninth place while the women's swimming is 12
th.
Day Two Results – MenDay Two Results – WomenScores through SaturdayFreshman Christian March qualified for two individual events Saturday while senior Jon Shepard joined March in the 200-yard breaststroke final. March finished 12
th in the 50-yard freestyle with a quick time of 22.20. In the 200-yard breaststroke, March captured the Bobcats' highest finish so far of the invitational with a sixth-place time of 2:11.10 in his first time competing in the event for FSU this season. Shepard came in right after March with a seventh-place finish after touching the wall at 2:13.09.
Shepard and March joined freshmen James Williams and Marquell Proctor to post a 12th-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:42.10. Senior Jeffery Page, sophomore Alek Combs and freshmen Deionn Yarberough and Darnell Hungerford finished out the evening for Frostburg with an 18
th-place time in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:50.49.
On the women's side, junior Kait Donch picked up the only finals qualifying time for Bobcats with a time of 2:33.22 in the preliminary heat of the 200-yard breaststroke. Donch finished 10
th in the finals heat after shaving less than a second off the preliminary time touching the wall at 2:32.49.
Donch, along with senior Sara King, junior Maci Quintanilla and freshman Macey Nitchie finished 16
th in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:59.41.
The Bobcats return to the pool tomorrow to finish out the F&M invitational and their 2014 half of their schedule. The preliminary heats are scheduled for 9:00 am while the finals will go off at 5:00 pm.
