FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State field hockey team ended their season with 4-2 loss to Washington and Jefferson College on Senior Night at Bobcat Stadium. Frostburg’s season comes to a close with a 5-15 overall record and a 1-6 record in the Capital Athletic Conference.

The Presidents took the early lead 12 minutes into the contest when Victoria Patrick took a pass from Hannah Lott at the top of the arc and lifted a shot past Frostburg goalie Maggie Edwards.
Washington & Jefferson held the ball in the Frostburg zone for most of the period, but the Bobcats made the most of their opportunities. Alli Elliott tied the score at one in the 25th minute on a pass from Becky Randel.
Lott answered back for the Presidents as she added a late first half goal in the 30th minute to make the score 2-1 heading into halftime.
Frostburg (5-15, 1-6) would tie the score once again when senior Chelsea Smith dribbled past two defenders and faked out the W & J goalkeeper just two minutes into the second half.
The Presidents grabbed the lead for good just 24 seconds later when Arielle King scored the game-winning goal. Amanda Pflumm scored an insurance goal for the Presidents in the 52nd minute to make the score 4-2.
Frostburg goalie Maggie Edwards made 21 saves in the defeat, while W & J goalie Shelby Colyer made five saves for the win. The Bobcats were outshot 33-9 in the contest.
