BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater field hockey team scored thee-straight goals over the middle part of the contest to break open a 1-1 tie on its way to a 5-2 win over Frostburg State, Saturday afternoon.

BC (7-4) scored first when Jennifer Bateman found the back of the net on a penalty stroke in the 20th minute.

Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke).
The Eagles scored three unanswered goals over the rest of the first half and the first 13 minutes of the second period for a 4-1 lead. Brianna Jacques scored the first of two goals in the 28th minute to end the first half scoring.
Bridgewater’s Christina Pybus scored three and half a minutes into the second half off a Jacques assist and Rachael Keshishian closed out the Eagles’ three-goal spurt with a goal at 48:21 for a 4-1 lead.
Senior
Sammy Stalter (La Plata, Md./La Plata) scored an unassisted goal in the 64th minute to narrow the deficit to 4-2, but BC put the game away when Jacque scored her second tally with two minutes left in the game.
Bridgewater held a 31-23 edge in shots, but Frostburg State held a decisive 13-3 lead in penalty corners.
Elizabeth Sullivan earned the win for the Eagles after making 11 saves and allowing both FSU goals. FSU freshman keeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) endured the loss after making four saves and allowing all five goals.
The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, October 11 when they host Lynchburg at 2:00 pm.
