BRADFORD, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford, 8-1, on Saturday. Four individuals pick up double wins on the day.
FSU has an overall record of 5-8 and a conference record of 3-2 on the season.
Juniors
Becky Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and
Monie Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) along with senior
Liz Coblentz (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) and freshman
Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) each had two wins. B. Cuddahee and M. Cuddahee picked up their first win against Kelly O'Brien and Leslie Shallop in the number two doubles match with a score of 8-3. In the number three doubles match, Coblentz and Sites defeated Danielle Williams and Brittany Thomas (8-5).
The Bobcats swept the singles competition picking up all six wins. In number one singles, senior
Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) defeated Leyla Damas (6-0, 6-2) and sophomore
Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) captured the number two singles victory against Renee Total (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3)).
In the three singles match, Coblentz won against O'Brien with scores of 6-0, 6-0 while M. Cuddahee defeated Shallop for the number four singles victory (6-1, 6-2). B. Cuddahee captured the number five singles victory against Williams (6-2, 6-3) and Sites the number six singles victory against Thomas (6-0, 6-0).
