FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team swept District of Columbia on Wednesday afternoon by a 7-0 final.

Facing off against the shorthanded Firebirds, who only had four available players, FSU began with victories in doubles play. At the No. 1 spot, seniors Cole Alcala and German Diaz took a 6-3 decision, while freshmen Gabriel Carrillo and Sergi Rodriguez won 6-2 to take the meet point to go with a forfeit at No. 3.

With only four singles matches on the board, the Bobcats took a clean sweep without dropping a single set. Alcala (6-3, 6-2), Diaz (6-3, 6-2), and Carrillo (6-1, 6-0) all completed undefeated days, while freshman Tiago Iser also was victorious at 6-1, 6-2.

With the win, Frostburg improves to 6-6 on the year, while UDC drops to 3-8. FSU will return home on Friday, April 10 to face West Virginia Wesleyan at 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
