WVWC Sweeps Men's Tennis in MEC Matchup

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to West Virginia Wesleyan at home on Friday afternoon by a 7-0 final.
 
In doubles play, WVWC took the No. 2 spot with the team of freshman Tiago Iser and senior Noah Fisher winning 6-4 at No. 3, leaving the point up to the top spot. In a back-and-forth match, Wesleyan narrowly came out ahead 7-6 over seniors Cole Alcala and German Diaz.
 
Continuing their momentum into singles play, the visitors swept each match, not dropping a set. Alcala battled in a 7-6, 6-3 loss, with Iser (6-4, 6-4) and freshman Sergi Rodriguez (6-3, 7-5) also putting up fights.
 
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 6-7 while Wesleyan improves to 11-5. FSU will return home to face Davis & Elkins on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
