FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team narrowly fell to West Virginia Wesleyan at home on Friday afternoon by a 4-3 final.

In doubles play, WVWC took the No. 1 match 6-4, while juniors Ximena Ku and Patricia Castejon responded with the same score victory at No. 2, as the visitors took the three spot 6-1 to secure the meet point. Â

Frostburg put up a fight in singles play, as Ku took a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2, while junior Claudia Coombes also won in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6. Castejon her three spot in a marathon match 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, however Wesleyan swept each match at Nos. 1, 4, and 5 to do enough in securing the meet victory.

With the loss, Frostburg drops to 9-8 while Wesleyan improves to 12-5. FSU will return home to face Davis & Elkins on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
