INSTITUTE, W. Va. – The Frostburg State acrobatics & tumbling team won their road meet against West Virginia State 245.260-118.140 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats started strong, putting up a score of 36.55 in the compulsory event, impressing with a 9.75 in the Pyramid heat and a 9.80 in the Toss, leading by 16.40 points. In the Acro event, FSU had a 9.0 and above for each of the three heats, further expanding their advantage, as the 5-Element netted a 9.70 while the 7-Element had a 9.55. The Pyramid event would be the closest event between the teams. FSU put up a 29.10 compared to 23.90 from the Yellow Jackets. Frostburg scored aat least 9.60 in all three heats, with a high score of 9.85 in the open heat. At the half, the Bobcats led 93.90-64.00.
Frostburg had a score of 26.70 in the toss event with the top heat being a 9.00 in the open, while the 450 Salto and Synchronized weren't far behind at 8.90 and 8.80, respectively. FSU scored a 45.6 out of a possible 50.8 in the tumbling event, including an 8.10/8.35 in the Aerial, an 8.30/8.60 in the 6-Element, and an 8.45/8.75 in the Open. In the team event, the Bobcats scored 79.06, bringing their final meet total to 245.260 compared to WVSU's 118.140.
With the win, the Bobcats are now 5-1 on the year, while WV State drops to 0-6. Frostburg will wrap up their regular season with a home tri-meet against Fairmont State and Wheeling on Friday, April 3
