OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Frostburg State Acrobatics & Tumbling team began their season with a 245.670-109.075 victory over Stevenson on Thursday evening.

FSU came out in the Compulsory Event with a 35.95-19.90 score, impressing in both the Pyramid (9.65) and Toss (9.40) heats. They followed up with a 27.25-17.20 victory during the Acro Event, with their highest score coming at 9.30 in the 7-Element heat.

In one of the Bobcats' historically strong events, they scored a 9.40 or above in each of the three heats en route to a 28.80 total, featuring their highest heat score of the meet, a 9.85 in the Open. At halftime, the lead was already a large one at 92.00-58.25.

Frostburg scored a pair of heats at 8.90 in the Toss, with both the 450 Salto and Open heats starting out at values of 9.4 and 9.5, respectively, netting a 26.55 out of a possible 28.30 for the event. During the Tumbling event, sophomores Bailey Miniefield and Ryan Fisk both impressed in the 6-Element and Open Passes, respectively, with the former scoring 8.625 out of an 8.85 start value, and the latter netting an 8.575 out of 8.75.

Rounding out the day, FSU compiled an 82.97 in the Team Event out of a possible 99.02, bringing their total on the day to 245.670. The Mustangs did not field a team event, resulting in their final score of 109.075.

With the win, the Bobcats begin the year 1-0, while Stevenson drops to 0-1. Frostburg will next host their first meet of 2026 in an MEC tri-meet against Fairmont State and Wheeling. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
