FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell 5-2 in their home finale to Salem (WV) on Friday afternoon.

Prior to the match, FSU honored its two seniors in Lorena Pintar and Femke Hofkamp as they round out their Bobcat careers.

The Tigers began the meet by sweeping the doubles matches, although Frostburg put up a fight at Nos. 1 and 2. As the top pairing, Pintar and junior Alyssa Kush just fell shy in a 7-6 battle, while sophomores Ella Troxell and Patricia Castejon dropped a 7-5 decision.

In singles play, SU took matches 3-6 all in straight sets to secure the meet victory. Kush and Castejon each salvaged points for the Bobcats in three-set matches, the former winning 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 while the latter earned hers in comeback fashion at 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.

With the loss, Frostburg ends their regular season at 6-9, while Salem improves to 11-5. FSU now awaits results from around the conference to see if they will qualify for the MEC tournament. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
