PETERSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team finished their spring break trip 2-1, concluding their week with a 4-0 sweep of Virginia State on Thursday.
Senior Lorena Pintar and junior Alyssa Kush teamed up for the dominant 6-0 match at No. 1 doubles, while the sophomore duo of Ella Troxell and Patricia Castejon were right behind them with a 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot.
Kush took her No. 1 singles contest with a 6-1, 6-2 victory to start off Frostburg in singles competition, while Castejon was next in the No. 2 hole with a 6-2, 6-1 outcome. Troxell was the other Bobcat to compete in singles on the day, seeing a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 3 slot.
With the win, Frostburg moves to 4-3 on the year, while Virginia State falls to 3-3. The Bobcats next welcome in Charleston (WV) to begin MEC play on their home court Wednesday, March 26 at 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
