WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Rugby team traveled to take on the West Chester Golden Rams on Saturday afternoon, where the Bobcats fell 44-3.
Frostburg was coming off a two-week layoff after their last game against Navy. The Rams came into the day 0-2 on the early season, with FSU holding a record of 2-1.
The Bobcats had a tough day against the well-rounded home team, as the Golden Rams started off strong, getting on the board first with a penalty kick. Already holding a 3-0 lead, West Chester then added a try, along with a conversion, to go up 10-0.
32 minutes into action FSU broke through, when freshman Natalie Allen made a penalty kick to give the Bobcats three points and make the score 15-3. WCU continued to dominate to round out the half, leaving the score 20-3 heading into the break.
West Chester controlled the remainder of the game, keeping Frostburg off the board, as the game ended with the Golden Rams coming out on top 44-3.
With the loss, Frostburg moves to 2-2 on the season, while West Chester picks up their first win for a 1-2 record. The Bobcats travel to play American International for their next contest on Sunday, October 6 at 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
