FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team concluded their inaugural season by hosting several teams at the first-ever Bobcat Open on Sunday.
Â
Freshman Jada Fowler put a cap on her fine debut season by picking up a pair of wins and going 2-2 overall in the tournament. She won her opening match by tech fall 12-2 but followed up with a pinfall loss. In keeping her tournament alive, she secured her own pin with one second left in the first period, then just missed out on a shot at the third-place match with another loss by pin.
Â
Also competing for FSU were freshmen Aurora Walters and Lillie Costilla, both of whom were pinned in each of their matches.
Â
The tournament concludes the first season for the women's wrestling program, as Head Coach Bre Neal will look to bring in another recruiting class for the 2024-25 season.
