YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Women's Indoor Track & Field team opened their season on Friday in the Youngstown Icebreaker.
Frostburg knotted multiple top-10 finishes on the day to start off their season, as junior Khady Ndiaye and freshman Sydney Johnson both placed eighth in their respective field events, with the former showing a 10.92m in the triple jump and the latter seeing a weight throw of 11.60m. Johnson went on to take 11
th in the shot put with a finish of 10.06m, while sophomore Raegan Phillips threw a 10.56m for a ninth place finish. Rounding out the field event for the Bobcats was sophomore Lucy Crowe, also securing an 11
th place finish on the day, with a long jump of 5.28m for seventh best in program history.
The sophomore duo of Emily Wishart (5:31.81) and Paige Etnoyer (5:34.49) placed ninth and 12
th in the mile, while Etnoyer also went on to take ninth in the 800m with a run of 2:33.33. Junior Valerie Boards placed 10
th in the 200m with a 25.73 finish, while sophomore Lucy Crowe earned the top spot for FSU in the 400m with a run of 1:02.17.
Frostburg, set to compete in two meets over the weekend, will next travel to Lewisburg, PA to compete in the Bison Open & Multis that started Friday, December 6 and go to Saturday, December 7. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
