FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Three Women's Wrestling freshmen competed at the Robert Horton Open, hosted by Emmanuel, on Sunday, picking up four total wins.

Aurora Walters competed in a double elimination bracket at 116 lbs, losing in each of her first two rounds by pinfall.

Lillie Costilla lost her first match in 130 lbs by tech fall 16-5, but recovered to pin her opponent in an elimination match. She would narrowly miss out on competing for third place, losing by pinfall to end her tournament.

Jada Fowler became the last Bobcat standing, as she had lost in her first round at 123 lbs by pinfall, having fought back to a 4-4 tie after the first period. In the consolation bracket, she racked up three straight wins, with back-to-back tech falls by scores of 10-0 and 13-3, followed by an 8-2 decision win. Against the same opponent that defeated her in the opening match, Fowler ultimately lost by tech fall 13-0, falling just shy of the third-place match.

The women will conclude their season on Sunday, February 4 where FSU will host the first-ever Bobcat Open, with matches set to begin at 10 a.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
