BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team began their season at the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament on Thursday, with a few athletes advancing into Friday's matches.

In the first round of doubles, sophomore Alyssa Kush and freshman Lauren Ceballos cruised to a 6-1 win, while juniors Lorena Pintar and Julia Ramos won by the same scoreline. Each pairing would unfortunately go on to fall in the round of 16, the former by a score of 6-1 and the latter 6-3.

Kush won her opening match in singles play, going the full three sets in a 7-6, 2-6, 10-8 decision to qualify for the next day. Joining her was Pintar, who put up a straight-set sweep at 7-5, 6-0, though both could not advance past the round of 32. Ramos came up just short in her pursuit of a win, narrowly losing 5-7, 6-1, 10-8 in a tiebreak.

The women will begin match play on Saturday, September 30 for a home match against Shippensburg at 12 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
