FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team ended the 2023 MEC Championships in fifth place overall on Tuesday afternoon, the team's highest-ever finish since joining Division II.

In the third and final day of events, FSU began the meet well, as the 4x100 meter relay team of sophomore Gabrielle Heard and freshmen Tristen Clark, Malaika Habib, and Valerie Boards placed second at 48.39, the fastest time for the program this season.

Habib and Heard were later joined by junior Baby Jimerson and freshman Jasmine Scott to earn second in the 4x400 meter relay at 4:01.41, also the fastest mark for Frostburg this year. Scott also came runner up in the 400 meters at 58.15.

Boards had a pair of top-five finishes on the day, placing fifth in the 200 meters (26.67) and earning a spot on the podium in third at the 100 meters (12.30).
