BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced its 2023 Women's Lacrosse award winners and all-conference teams on Tuesday afternoon, one day prior to the start of the conference tournament.
Frostburg State had nine players named throughout All-MEC First Team, All-MEC Second Team, and All-MEC Honorable Mention honors.
Freshman Neila Haney added to her list of awards, being named to the All-MEC First Team, alongside freshman Dahlia Trippel, sophomore Julia Badolato, and graduate MacKenzie Cramer.
As a freshman, Haney led the league in goals (52) and points per game (4.6), while ranking third in the league in assists (27) this season. She also tallied a .565 shooting percentage on the year with four game-winning goals, all helping her earn a spot on the MEC All-Freshman team as well. Trippel finished with 21Â goals on the season along with seven assists, for a total of 28 points, while also earning a spot on the MEC All-Freshman team. Badolato was credited with 22 goals and five assists, for a total of 27 points, while Cramer picked up a team-leading 31 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers.
Junior Camden DeMaio and sophomores Delaney Devers and Nicole Gray earned sports on the All-MEC Second Team, while freshman Isabelle Kelly and junior Anna Kearney received All-MEC Honorable mention, with Kelly also earning a spot on the MEC All-Freshman team.
DeMaio was second in goals (27) for the Bobcats and dished out 12 assists, to come in second on the team in points with 39. Devers tallied 30 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers, while Gray made a total of 104 saves in goal. Kelly led the team in caused turnovers with 26 while also scooping up 17 ground balls, and Kearney contributed to the offense scoring 25 goals on the season to go with eight assists for a total of 33 points.
