ELKINS, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to Davis & Elkins on the road with a final score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The top freshmen duo of German Diaz and Cole Alcala knotted the only doubles victory for Frostburg with a score of 6-2. Sophomore Matt Bolen and junior Del Carden dropped their match with another score of 6-2.
Alcala earned the only victory in singles play for the Bobcats, putting up a fight to take the match in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 6-0. Diaz put up a solid fight in his singles match as well, falling in three sets 3-6, 6-0, 3-6. Bolen and freshman Noah Fisher recorded solid efforts in their matches with Bolen falling 5-7, 1-6 and Fisher falling 1-6, 4-6.
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 4-11 on the year while Davis & Elkins goes to 5-6. The Bobcats will be back in action as they return to home on Wednesday, April 12 to face Fairmont state at 3 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
