CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team was swept on the road in their match against Charleston (WV) with a final score of 7-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The team of sophomore Lorena Pintar and freshman Alyssa Kush put up a solid effort in their doubles match for Frostburg, falling by just a score of 7-5. The sophomore duo of Julia Ramos Bentham and Mariaspa Kotsiou fell in their match by just a point, with a 7-6 score.
Kush (6-1, 6-3) and Pintar (6-3, 6-0) fell in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, while Ramos Bentham fell just shy of a doubles point as well, falling in a 7-6, 5-1 effort in No. 3 singles.
With the loss, Frostburg moves to 11-9 on the year, while Charleston improves to 16-1. The Bobcats will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to face Millersville on Sunday, April 16 with the match set to begin at 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
