FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team dropped their home match to Fairmont State on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.
Freshmen German Diaz and Cole Alcala earned yet another doubles victory as the No. 1 pairing, winning 7-5 in a back-and-forth battle. Sophomore Matt Bolen and junior Del Carden came up just short in their 6-4 loss in the second pairing.
Alcala picked up the Bobcats' lone point on the day in a clean 6-1, 6-2 straight set sweep at No. 2 singles. Diaz had some solid moments, but in the end fell 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot.
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 4-12 on the year, while Fairmont improves to 12-2. The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, April 15 for a road match against Charleston (WV) set to begin at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
