FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell at home to Fairmont State on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.
Freshman Alyssa Kush and sophomore Lorena Pintar secured a win at No. 1 doubles 6-3, but the Falcons took the other two matches to win the doubles point.
Pintar maintained her momentum into singles play with a full-length 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 win as the Bobcats' lone singles point. Sophomore Mariaspa Kotsiou put up quite the fight at No. 3 singles, but couldn't quite come back in a 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 loss. Sophomore Femke Hofkamp also battled at No. 6 singles, losing 7-6, 6-4.
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 11-8 on the year, while Fairmont improves to 11-5. The Bobcats go back on the road for a Saturday, April 15 match against Charleston (WV) set to begin at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
