Second Match Sweep Gives Women's Tennis Pair of Wednesday Wins

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team completed their home doubleheader sweep with a 7-0 win over Catholic in the second match of the day.
 
The Bobcats commanded the doubles matches, winning all three en route to taking the meet point. As they had done in the first contest, freshman Alyssa Kush and sophomore Lorena Pintar cruised to a 6-2 win at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore Julia Ramos paired with senior Madison Toothman for a 6-4 victory, the same winning margin for senior Rabiatu Ladan and sophomore Sydney Goering at No. 3 doubles.
 
Kush (7-5, 6-7, 10-3), Ramos (6-1, 6-0), Toothman (6-4, 6-2), and Ladan (8-3) all also earned wins in their individual matches, putting the meet result in hand. Senior Immanuella Odiong (6-1, 6-1) and sophomore Femke Hofkamp (8-2) completed FSU's undefeated victory by earning the final two solo points.
 
With the win, Frostburg improves to 8-6 while the Cardinals fall to 5-8. The Bobcats are back on the court Friday, March 31 for another home match against Salem (WV) set to begin at 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted at frostburgsports.com.
