FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team swept Catholic University at home, with a final score of 7-0 on Wednesday evening.
The team of freshmen German Diaz and Cole Alcala earned a win at No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-3. Sophomore Matt Bolen and junior Del Carden tallied another victory for the Bobcats 6-2, with senior Mason Hordubay and freshman Noah Fisher taking their match with a score of 6-2 as well.
FSU continued their dominance in the singles competition, as Diaz defeated his opponent with ease with a 6-1, 6-0 score. Not far behind, Alcala took his match 6-3, 6-2, while Bolen earned himself a hard fought victory in his  match, pulling out a 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 victory. Carden had to battle as well but won 7-5, 7-6, as Fisher also played a long match with a 7-5, 7-5 victory. Senior Dean Waterman sealed the 6-2, 6-1 victory to complete the sweep of the Cardinals.
With the win, Frostburg moves to 3-8 on the year, while Catholic drops to 5-6. The Bobcats will stay at home to host Salem (WV) on Friday, March 31 for a 3 PM match time. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsport.com.
