FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team was defeated by MEC opponent West Liberty with a final score of 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.
The sophomore team of Julia Ramos Bentham and Mariaspa Kotsiou captured a doubles point for Frostburg in their dominant 6-1 victory. Freshman Alyssa Kush and sophomore Lorena Pintar came up close in their doubles match falling 3-6.
Ramos Bentham picked up the lone singles point for the Bobcats falling 3-6 in the first set, but fighting back to win the next two 6-1, 6-3. Kotsiou put up a fight in her singles match falling 4-6, 3-6, as Kush came up just shy of a victory as well with scores of 4-6, 6-7.
With the loss, Frostburg moves to 4-5 on the season while West Liberty improves to 7-2. The Bobcats will travel to face Millersville on Saturday, March 18 with theit match set to start at 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
