Morrison Sets Frostburg Pole Vault Mark at First Day of MEC Championship

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's track team competed in day one of the Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
 
The high point of the day for the Bobcats came during the pole vault. Freshman Eva Morrison made the podium with a third-place finish and new Frostburg record at 3.23 meters.
 
Later in the day freshman Addy Cottrill took third in the shot put with a throw of 11.75 meters.
 
Day one also featured the pentathlon. Junior Morgan Mathews finished fourth in the shot put at 9.41 meters and fifth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:39.64. Mathews would take fifth place in the pentathlon.
 
Overall, the Bobcats finished the day in fifth place overall with 20 points.
