FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team hosted their first-ever home meet on Wednesday evening, falling by a team score of 35-15 to Delaware Valley.

With a packed house, Frostburg welcomed the Aggies to a dual meet in Bobcat Arena, as the Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team hosted MEC rival Fairmont State.

Not having enough numbers to compete at each weight class, FSU was picked up by the freshmen trio of Lillie Costilla, Maria Hiles, and Catherine Dutton earning three wins for FSU. Hiles kicked things off by earning a pin fall in her exhibition match that lit up the home crowd. DVU answered back with two straight first round pins, jumping ahead 15-0 thanks to a forfeit as well. Costilla pinned her opponent a 1:19 into her match in the 130 weight class, giving the Bobcats their first-ever points in a dual meet.

Delaware Valley then took three straight forfeits, followed by a win at 170 lbs to effectively put the meet result in hand. In the meet finale at 191 lbs, Dutton secured the final victory of the night for either team, finishing off her opponent with a pinfall in two minutes during some back-and-forth action that ended the meet on a high for FSU.

With the loss, Frostburg begins the year 0-1, while the Aggies start off 1-0. FSU will next travel to Adrian, MI on Saturday, November 11 to compete against Adrian at 10 AM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
