EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team competed in their first meet as a program, wrestling in the East Stroudsburg Open on Sunday.

Freshman Jada Fowler began her FSU career in impressive fashion at 123 lbs, scoring a technical fall in her first collegiate match, winning 10-0 in the first period. She followed up with another 10-0 tech fall soon after, advancing all the way to the quarterfinals before being defeated. 

Also in standout fashion, freshman Maria Hiles earned a pair of wins at 170 lbs. Her first match ended in a tech fall loss, but she recovered in the consolation bracket to pick up two decision victories, narrowly missing out on a spot in the fifth-place match. 

Overall, seven Bobcats saw their first action of the season, picking up four total wins in seeing some tournament action and several of the nation's top teams competing at one site.
