FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team took down Shepherd on Thursday afternoon by a final score of 6-1 at home.
Frostburg swept the doubles play with teams of freshmen Viktor Boban and Peter Barun, and freshman Field Myatt and sophomore Noah Fisher defeating their opponents both by a 6-1 score. Junior Matt Bolen and sophomore Cole Alcala fought for the 6-3 win to earn their doubles point.
Alcala continued the fight in singles play, coming out with the 7-6, 6-3 win to earn the first singles point of the match. Boban (6-3, 6-1) and Myatt (6-0, 7-5) each earned themselves the victory in their matches, with Fisher (6-3, 6-0) and Bolen (6-4, 6-2) taking the last two matches of singles play. Barun fell just shy in his singles match, falling 6-2, 7-5.
With the win, FSU improves to 2-1 on the year, while Shepherd drops to 0-3. The Bobcats remain home as they host Harford Community College for their next match on Saturday, October 21 at 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
