FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Swimming team earned a pair of wins over Wheeling and West Virginia Wesleyan on a Saturday tri-meet at Bobcat Natatorium.

Junior Liz Perry got FSU's first win on the board in the 100-meter backstroke (1:12.71), which turned out to just be the start of her outstanding meet, where she also earned victories in the 100-meter freestyle (1:04.14) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:11.71).

Close behind in the overall win column, sophomore Kendall Hooper got top marks in both the 200-meter fly (2:34.86) and the 200-meter IM (2:37.76). In a balanced meet, several Frostburg swimmers were able to take first places, including sophomore Lydia Nebiolo in the 400-meter free (4:48.75), junior Maree Dieterich in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:10.51), and sophomore Amaya Burke in the 50-meter free (29.76).

Also earning important results and points, freshman Gabriela Betancourt came second in the 200-meter backstroke (2:37.54) and the 200-meter fly (1:15.39), while sophomore Natasha Paciello was runner-up in the 200-meter breast (3:02.81).

FSU ended the meet in sweet fashion, as the team of sophomore Alexis Council, Betancourt, Hooper, and Nebiolo won the 400-meter free relay in 4:18.80.

With the meet sweep, Frostburg improves to 4-4 overall, while Wheeling is now 3-4 and WVWC drops to 2-4. FSU is back in action next Saturday, January 21 for another home meet against Salem (WV) set to begin at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com. Â
