CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Swim team placed second out of four teams across two days at the Winter Frenzy and Vulcan Invite from Friday to Saturday.

On day one, the 200 free relay team of juniors Jayme Meadows and Brenna Naddeo and sophomores Kay Buhrman and Ashley Ellsworth placed third at 1:47.24. Sophomore Genna Rippeon picked up FSU's first victory in the 400-yard IM (4:40.37), while also coming runner-up in the 50 free (25.58) and the 100 free (55.03). Meadows earned the next Bobcat victory in the 200 back (2:14.73) before freshman Jenna Handwerger won the 200 fly (2:15.41).

Rounding out the first day, senior Gaby Betancourt, junior Alexis Ramsey, sophomore Taylor Emirch, and Handwerger took second in the 400 medley relay at 4:20.92. Frostburg placed second overall with 172.5 points, as Hillsdale earned the top spot.

The second day of competition opened with Meadows, Handwerger, Ramsey, and Emrich taking second in the 200 medley relay in 1:58.22. Emrich then earned third in the 1,650 free (19:15.72), while Handwerger had the same placement in the 200 breast (2:40.00). Rippeon earned the top Bobcat finish of the day, coming second in the 200 free (1:59.71) while also taking third in the 200 IM (2:15.86).

Closing out the meet, the team of Naddeo, Ellsworth, Chase, and Meadows placed third in the 400 free relay at 3:50.62. Once again, FSU took second overall, with HC repeating as winners.

Frostburg will next travel to UMBC on Saturday, January 24 for their final dual meet of the season at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
