GLENVILLE, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Track and Field team concluded the first day of the MEC Outdoor Championship in fourth place following the first four completed events.

Junior Makayla Westry started the meet with a bang, as she set a new program record in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.17 meters to earn first place in the event. Fellow junior Alexa Bradburn also had an excellent event, as her throw of 45.85 meters on her final attempt was good enough for second place in the meet and third all-time in school history. Â

The Bobcats continued to have personal success in the hammer throw, as junior Morgan Mathews (30.21m) smashed her personal record by almost nine feet. Junior Chloe Park rounded out the field events with a top-10 finish in the pole vault at a height of 2.30 meters.Â

In the concluding event of the day, junior Isabel Pereira (47:09.46) and freshman Chelsea Montau (48:00.84) both set PR's in the 10,000 meters, with Montau beating her previous best time by over two and a half minutes.
