Women's Tennis Wins Second Straight Match in Convincing Fashion

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Frostburg State women's tennis team defeated Lock Haven on the road Sunday afternoon by a final score of 5-2.
 
The Bobcats played some of their best tennis of the season in both the doubles and singles matches. In doubles play, the pairing of freshman Lorena Pintar and junior Rabiatu Ladan secured a dominant 6-2 win. Freshman Sydney Goering and junior Jen Dieterle then secured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory as No. 3 pair.
 
Up a point going into singles play, Frostburg maintained their momentum, as Pintar (6-1, 6-0) and Ladan (6-2, 6-4) picked up straight set wins, getting the Bobcats within a point of the match victory. Junior Madison Toothman secured the win with a 7-5, 6-4 sweep, then junior Betsy Hixson put a cherry on top the team's performance with a hard-fought 6-7, 6-4, 10-8 comeback win.
 
With the win, FSU improves to 4-4 in the Spring season, while Lock Haven falls to 0-2. Frostburg returns to action on Tuesday, April 5, when they travel to face California (Pa.) at 4 PM. Check for updates at frostburgsports.com.
