FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team defeated Salem (WV) at home on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 6-1.
Due to lack of numbers, the Tigers were not able to compete in every match, resulting in automatic FSU wins. The Bobcats did perform well in the matches that were played, beginning with a doubles win from the pairing of freshman Lorena Pintar and junior Rabiatu Ladan. In the singles matches, Frostburg got victories from senior Immanuella Odiong and junior Madison Toothman, with the final match scoring being 6-1 in favor of FSU.
Seniors Cherise Jenkins and Shea Przywieczerski were both honored at the match for rounding out their respective Bobcat careers, as it was senior day for the team.
With the win, Frostburg improves to 5-9 in the Spring season, while Salem falls to 3-11. FSU returns to action tomorrow, April 24 for their final match of the regular season at home against Davis & Elkins at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted at frostburgsports.com.
