FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team took on Mountain East frontrunners Charleston (W.V.) in a home match on Saturday afternoon, losing 7-0 despite some solid performances.
In doubles play, the Golden Eagles swept the matches, though sophomore Origen Grear and graduate Desire Johnson were able to take four games off of one of the top doubles pairs in the region. Both Grear and Johnson also competed hard in singles play, with Grear nearly winning the first set in a 6-7 tiebreak loss and Johnson taking seven total games in a straight-set loss.
With the loss, FSU falls to 2-8 in the Spring season, while UCWV improves to 16-2. Frostburg returns to the court Wednesday, April 20 for a rescheduled home match against West Virginia Wesleyan scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. For information and updates stay tuned at frostburgsports.com.
