FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team won their second straight match Wednesday afternoon at home over Bowie State by a score of 4-3, one day after defeating Harford Community College on the road.
The match started off well, with FSU sweeping the doubles matches, with freshman Lorena Pintar and junior Rabiatu Ladan picking up a win, followed by another win from senior Immanuella Odiong and junior Madison Toothman to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead on the day.
In singles play, Ladan and freshman Sydney Goering both won in straight sets to secure enough points to clinch a Bobcat win. Pintar and Toothman narrowly fell in a pair of marathon matches, as both went the distance in three-set tiebreak losses.
With the win, Frostburg improves to 2-1 in their Spring season, while Bowie State falls to 1-1. The Bobcats return to the court Saturday, March 19 for a road trip at Bloomsburg. For information and updates stay tuned at frostburgsports.com.
