BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team competed at the Bloomsburg Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in flights of both singles and doubles play.
 
The freshman pairing of Julia Ramos and Mariaspa Kotsiou were outstanding in their doubles matches, picking up wins in all three rounds of competition. Seniors Rabiatu Ladan and Betsy Hixson combined for wins in the first two rounds as well, with sophomore Lorena Pintar and freshman Alyssa Kush earning a 6-4 victory in the third round.
 
Kush went perfect in her singles matches, earning three straight victories without dropping a single set. Ramos won her matches in the first and third rounds, with Kotsiou and Hixson picking up a win each in the first and second rounds, respectively. Sophomore Sydney Goering had the final victory of the day, winning 7-6, 6-3 in her first round match.
 
The women return to match play on Wednesday, October 19 at home against Shepherd, with play set to begin at 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted at frostburgsports.com.
