SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va.- The Frostburg State tennis teams competed at Shepherd on Friday afternoon, with the men coming out victorious 7-0 and the women narrowly falling 4-3. 

For the men, sophomore Origen Grear and graduate Desire Johnson paired in doubles to win 6-2, with junior Mason Hordubay and sophomore Del Carden won their doubles match 6-4 to take the doubles point in the contest. In singles play, all four of the doubles players won their individual matches, joined by junior Caleb Beidle earning a 6-1, 6-3 win. Freshman Matt Bolen was given a win by default, completing the 7-0 sweep and earning their second win of the season. 

On the women's side, freshman Lorena Pintar and junior Rabiatu Ladan secured a doubles victory, but Shepherd would take the other two doubles matches to earn the point in the match. In singles play, Pintar, senior Immanuella Odiong, and junior Jen Dieterle all recorded victories, but SU won the other three matches to take the win. 

Win the win, the men's team improves to 2-1 on the year, while the women fall to 0-2. The teams will return to the courts for the Spring season when conference play begins.
