TOWSON, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team competed at the Goucher Invitational held at Goucher College on Saturday and Sunday.

Freshman Lorena Pintar had a fine performance, finishing in third place in her bracket after narrowly missing the championship match. She took her opening match 6-0, 6-1, then fell in heartbreaking fashion in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 10-8. In the third-place match, Pintar was able to come away with an 8-5 win to round out the tournament on a high note.

Joining her in earning a third-place finish was junior Rabiatu Ladan, who won her first match 6-0. 6-1 before falling 6-2, 6-0 in round two. She recovered to win 6-4. 6-2 in the third-place match for FSU's second top-three finish.

Junior Jen Diterle had a fourth-place finish over the weekend, as she won her first match in a three-set thriller 6-0, 2-6, 10-6 before dropping her final two matches. Also in the win column was senior Immanuella Odiong, who recovered from two opening day losses to win 6-4. 6-4 in her third and final match.

In doubles play, junior Betsy Hixson and freshman Sydney Goering paired to win one of their three matches, while seniors Erika Femne and Cherise Jenkins also won a match, narrowly missing out on a third-place finish in a three-set loss. Senior Shea Pryzwieczerski and junior Madison Toothman both fought in all three of their matches, but were unable to pull out a victory.
