CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's basketball team fell short during its road contest against the University of Charleston with a final score of 84-55, dropping them to 2-5 and bringing Charleston to 7-0. First-year Krysten Joseph led the scoring for the Bobcats on the night with 13 points and three rebounds.

The Bobcats had a slow start in the evening with sophomore Arianna Briggs-Hall dropping a good free throw for their only point during the first seven minutes of the game. Charleston brought the pressure by dropping 12 unanswered points during this time. Briggs-Hall woke the Bobcats up two minutes into the second quarter with a successful layup, bringing FSU within 16 points of Charleston with a score of 26-10. Junior Morgan Dombroski scored the last points for FSU in the second quarter closing the gap with two good free throws bringing the score to 46-25 to end the first half.

Briggs-Hall came ready to battle in the beginning of the third getting the first two points for Frostburg. It was a back and forth battle between FSU and Charleston, answering each other's baskets throughout the third. Briggs-Hall dropped six points during the third, but it was not enough to close the gap with a score of 72-42 to start the last quarter.

The Bobcats struggled to score in first half of the last quarter, getting their first points from a pair of free throws by Dombroski with 4:22 seconds left in the game. Less than a minute later, first-year Rhiana Hall also dropped a good pair of free throws bringing the score to 48-78. Joseph dropped a good three pointer, getting the last points for the Bobcats and ending the game with a score of 84-55.

First-year Brenae Ford ended the night with 11 points and three rebounds while sophomore Ciara Thomas also recorded 11 points with three rebounds for Frostburg.
