WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Frostburg State women's tennis team fell in the nation's capital 7-0 to the University of the District of Columbia Sunday afternoon.

At No. 1 doubles, Allison Paul and Jen Dieterle were swept 6-0 by the Firebirds' Estefania Castrillon and Izabella Bilecova. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, the other two doubles matches resulted in sweeps in favor of the hosts. Rabiatu Ladan and Shea Przywieczerski fell in No. 2 doubles, and the third matchup saw Madison Toothman and Cherise Jenkins bow out after a 6-0 defeat.

In singles, Jenkins made up for the doubles sweep by tallying a point in No. 6 singles, but she still fell 6-1, 6-0 to Castrillon. Ariana Zuzunaga also recorded a point in No. 4 singles, but would also fall in her bout. No. 1 singles Erika Femne lost 6-0, 6-0. No. 2 singles Przywieczerski dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision. No. 3 singles Rabiatu Ladan fell 6-0, 6-0, and No. 4 singles Madison Toothman was swept 6-0, 6-0.

The women's tennis team looks to rebound at the Goucher Invite in Baltimore, MD on September 28 and September 29.
