WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Frostburg State men's tennis team fell to at the University of District of Columbia 6-1 Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats made things interesting in No. 3 doubles thanks to the efforts of Justin Davis and Christian Deynes, but ultimately they would drop a tight 6-4 decision to DC's Juan Estevez Hernandez and Wilson Cano. In No. 1 doubles, Geoffrey Goldring and Mason Hordubay were swept 6-0, and Tim Goldring and Toheeb Aroworowon tallied a set but lost 6-1.

Frostburg's lone point of the afternoon came off the racket of Tim Goldring. The junior won his match 6-1, 6-2 over Cano in No. 6 singles. The other five singles matches resulted in sweeps for the Firebirds. Geoffrey Goldring in No. 1 singles, Davis in No. 2 singles, Hordubay in No. 3 singles, Deynes in No. 4 singles, and Aroworowon in No. 5 singles all fell by 6-0 scores.

The men's tennis team returns to action in Buckhannon, West Virginia when it takes part in the ITA Atlantic Tournament on Sunday, September 29 and Monday, September 30.
