Frostburg Rolls On The Road

BETHANY, W.Va. – The Frostburg State women's tennis team won its second straight match in 2019, 7-2 over the Bethany College Bison.

The Bobcats tallied victories in all but two singles matches, including a pair of 6-0, 6-0 sweeps by sophomore Shea Przywieczerski and first-year Madison Toothman in No. 5 and No. 2 singles respectively. Toothman recorded her second sweep in as many matches.

First-year players Aisling Woulfe and Rabiatu Ladan put away their opponents in two sets. Despite not coming away with the victory, junior Sarah Cartwright took her foe to three sets in No. 4 singles.

Frostburg dominated the trio of doubles matches. Cartwright would make up for her performance by sweeping No. 1 doubles with sophomore Cherise Jenkins. Senior Allison Paul and Woulfe recorded another sweep in No. 2 doubles, while Przywieczerski and Ladan pulled out an 8-3 win in No. 3 doubles.

The Bobcats now enter a four-month rest period, before returning to the courts for the spring portion of the season against West Liberty at home on February 29.
