NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Frostburg women's tennis team endured a 9-0 defeat to No. 26 Christopher Newport that wrapped up their weekend, Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats fall to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the CAC with the loss to the nationally-ranked Captains.
Sophomore Sammi Turner posted the closest singles match of the contest for the Bobcats as she lost 6-1, 6-2 to Colette Gilbert at No. 4.
Sophomore Allison Paul posted a 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Emily Morgan at No. 3 singles.
Frostburg State returns to the court next Saturday when it hosts Hood at 1:00 pm.
